Building what's next at Airspace LA

Background
Airtable's flagship events are our biggest opportunities to connect with potential customers and generate pipeline. Although we've hosted many flagship events before, we've never deployed a consistent design system that works across every locale.
Goal
Build a recognizable identity to unify every Airtable flagship event throughout the year and move builders and leaders from idea to action in a single day.
Creative approach
Concept: From marketing campaigns to immersive event environments, this system scales cohesively while making every event feel unique and true to its locale. The narrative, visual language, and design principles connect to core principles of the builder and executive audiences we're targeting.
Theme: Build what's next.
Rationale: “Airspace” the name evokes shared space, altitude, control, signal over noise. “Build what's next” activates the audience as builders of the future, rather than observers of it.
Think
That this is the bleeding edge of technology. Convinced that your builder expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of work and AI.
Feel
Motivated to make things happen and reach that “aha” moment. That you belong here, part of an exclusive, determined group clued into new ways of changing the world.
Do
Ready to use new tools and tactics to keep building and generating buy-in. Builders should leave having connected with others, and willing to try something they haven't tried before.
Process
Before deciding on Airspace, the team built and tested four territories to brand our flagship event portfolio.

Creative concept
Change starts with a bit. A fragment of thought, insight, or intuition that drifts through complexity. Alone, these fragments are incomplete. They need a builder's attention; a builder's spark. Builders move toward these bits, following keylines, discovering patterns, uncovering potential, and creating fresh kernels of possibility. The end result — a tapestry of bits, built by builders — is something far more impactful than the sum of its parts.

Design toolkit
Our toolkit starts with a single “bit” — the elemental building block. Everything — the wordmark, patterns, texture, on-stage animations — comes from scaling that bit up or breaking it apart. This pushes the same grid into new expressions every time.

The experience
From LA swag to latte art, we brought our brand system to life across a venue that saw 300+ people connect, build, learn, play, test, and ship.
A moment in time: We began the day with an Airspace welcome video. The aim was to hype up attendees and position human-agent collaboration as an accelerant to human creativity; the culmination of everything that's come before.

The video script also served as a manifesto, printed to the floor in the main hall space. This provided continuity between the day's experience, and served as its own activation.

The main stage
The main stage featured keynotes and customer stories, establishing Airtable as a leader in the AI era, and highlighting the innovation and impact of our largest customers.

Content tapestry: We created a content tapestry to tie together all of the content themes.

Getting people there
Promotion ran as a before-and-after: a landing page to drive registrations, and a recap page to capture leads post-event. Social carried our flagship brand out into the wild — an event photo and a keynote quote were immediately recognizable as Airspace.

Impact
We brought together customers, builders, analysts, and partners for a full day on the future of human-agent collaboration. From a buzzing morning of keynotes, to hands-on building, to candid customer Q&As, the day was packed with demos, connection, learning, and momentum-building across the board.

“The venue was fantastic, the speakers were top notch, my fellow participants were curious and impressive. I can't say enough good things.”
We built a flagship event identity for builders and leaders, that can flex across every surface
Our system continues to adapt and serve as a memorable foundation for all Airspace flagship events.
